MECC To Host 52nd Annual 首页 Craft Days 节日

HCD海报2023-1大石缝, VA – Mountain Empire Community College will host the college’s annual 首页 Craft Days 节日, 10月20 - 22日举行, featuring the unique 音乐, 工艺品, 食物, and artistry of the Appalachian region.

The 52nd 首页 Craft Days 节日 will feature two full days of concerts, 工艺供应商, and demonstrations of weaving, 陶器制作, 磨粉磨, 木头制作, 篮子编织, 制作扫帚, 绗缝, 梭织, 和更多的. A special free Friday night concert, with an opening reception, will also be held.

According to festival coordinator Lee Davis, “This year’s festival will feature all of the amazing vendors, 音乐, and 食物 options that 首页 Craft Days is recognized for. We will have several new vendors in all three areas – 工艺品, 食物, and demonstrations. The staff at MECC love seeing our community come out to enjoy the 音乐, 食物, & 工艺品.”

Heading this year’s Friday night concert are Martha Spencer & the Wonderland Band; Elizabeth LaPrelle & Family; Todd Meade, Tyler Hughes, Tommy Bledsoe, and 丰富的科比. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. in MECC’s Phillips-Taylor Hall Goodloe Center. Guests are invited to join us for free Dough & 乔和先生. Kettle Corn while supplies last from 4:30 p.m. 到下午6:30.m. Black Bear BBQ will also offer paid dinner options for guests. 

Craft and 食物 vendors will be open 10 a.m. 到下午6点.m. Saturday and Sunday only. Saturday’s 音乐 schedule includes featured performers: Todd Meade, Katie and Maddie Pearcy, 莎拉·凯特·摩根, 丰富的科比 & Nate Polly, Angie DeBord -Mountain Tales, Ed Snodderly, Whitetop Mountain Band & the Center Stage Cloggers, Town Branch Bluegrass, Empty Bottle String Band & Square Dance, Jim Lloyd, Tommy Bledsoe & Ben Kiser, Nobody’s Business & the Center Stage Cloggers, Jack Wright, Richard Phillips & 朋友, The White Brothers, Adalyn Ramey, 布兰登Maggard, 安妮湖, 乡下人嬉皮士, 特雷弗·麦肯齐, 杰米·科尔斯, 理查德·胡德, 扎克怀尔斯 & The Mill Holler Ramblers, Blue Ridge Girls, and Sulphur Springs String Dippers.

Sunday’s performers include: Ron Carson 4-Him, 乔治·雷诺兹, Doug Dorschug and Pam Randolph, 差距民事, 约翰·海伍德, The Crooked Road Ramblers, Siegan, Smith Family Singers, Oscar Harris and Heather Pace, 丹尼漂白的 & 朋友, Russell County Boys, 洛葛仙妮麦克丹尼尔, Steve and Tracey Edwards, Mountain Melody School, 乔治贝利 & Jess Stiles, Nathan Sykes, The Childress Girls, MECC String Band, and Ron Short. 

Admission is FREE to all the festival events. MECC is located on US Route 23 just south of 大石缝, Virginia. Parking and shuttles for the festival will be offered at five locations in 大石缝. Shuttle rides are $1 per person, or $2 round-trip, at boarding. Locations include:

  • Union High School (formerly Powell Valley High School) – Front Parking Lot
  • Curbside, Wood Ave, in Front of Food City
  • Curbside, Municipal Parking Lot behind Post Office/Federal Building
